I went to my first PL meet a week or so ago as a spectator. The APA bay state press & pull on October 5, 2002 in Northampton, MA. Pretty convient as it was a couple hundred feet from my house. Lots of good lifts. One crazy dude who was little over the top about 'psyching up', but good natured. Good fun.

Vincent Dizenzo put up 730lbs on his 4th attempt weighing a massive 293lbs. His buddies lowered him into place under the bar like a peice of heavy machinery, and up went the weight. After the white flag was presented there was some angry heckling of the judge from the peanut gallery. The protester was shouted down by the audence and left without incident.

Was anyone else there? Does anyone know who the distgruntled audience member was? Comments on the judging? Of the APA in general?

The 730 he put up did not seem as clearly locked out as the 725 he benched just a little before. So there might be some room for argument. Still, a frighteningly strong individual.
