comments about the uselessness of the triceps pressdown. I've read similar things elsewhere. Maybe that's true, but I've been doing them for a couple of weeks now, using the rope attachment, and find they give me a good 'burn' in my triceps. Are these criticisms correct?

No. I think the additional work needed to stabilize the torso is good for you. When I do them, my entire body is locked in position, and only my elbows/wrists are actuated.

The article writer is an idiot !! Pushdowns are a great isolation exercise, I've seen Arnold do them (on film) so they can't be too bad
