This might be a potentially Silly Question but the ignorant eventually have to learn too. ; )

How much success will people with atrophied muscles have in weight-training?

Thanks in advance.

If you are new to weight training and find a good consistent routine, you can progress very quickly.

I am not sure what the poster meant by 'atrophied' muscles, but I am 73 years old, and probably mine were whatever the poster meant. I began weight training in July and have gained muscle I did not have. And on a very slow and moderate regime.

More and more 'experts' in geriatrics now are recommending weight training for people who have experienced muscle loss as a result of aging. The results speak for themselves.

For people who are in this situation, I highly recommend a personal trainer who understands you must start very slowly and challenges you but does not push beyond your capabilities.
