Can restarting weight training (or, perhaps, any significant increase in training) give a short term increase in susceptibility to colds or flus?

If you're training in a gym, you have a whole new set of 'house microbes' living on the bars and dumbells. As for depressed immunity following a very intense, stressful workout - it seems likely, but I can't say for certain.

It helps to a) touch your mouth/nose/eyes as little as possible in the gym and b) wash your hands frequently, and especially after the workout before leaving the gym

Two posts on hand washing in one day. I'm really not OCD. Really.

(now how many times did I flip the light switch on and off before sitting down? 5 or 6? 5 or 6? Oh shit, I have to go now.)
