So here is my question and story. I am 34 years old. 6 foot 1 inch and 149pounds. I am hiv positive and have been for a little over a 2 and half years. I am healthy and fine. I have been thin my whole life even before hiv and my whole family is thin. My doctor 2 years ago presribed me testosterone cypionate as my testosterone levels were boarderline but a little low. He also said it would help me put on weight. He also said I would more than likely be taking this low dose for life and that many of his patients have been on a low dose for years but he explained in a long story how things work and that being on them for along time makes you have to be on them forever basically as your body gets used to it and stops making it naturally. Many hiv patients are on low doses of testosterone for life he said to help with wasting and keeping on weight as the disease initself is thought to hinder testoserone production affecting weight and also causes fatigue wich testosterone can help both. I am supplied monthly with needles and cypionate and was told to inject 200mg every other week. I did do it now and then but quite rarely actually, but not all the time or on time as I should. Many monthes I didn't take it at all but I plan to at least stay on a low dose now and in the future. And I never really work out.
Fast foward 2 years. So now I have ALOT of bottles of cypionate that I never took and it's not expired. I want to go to the gym religiously now and bulk up bigtime. I want to do 400mg a week for ten weeks as this is the highest dose I found that had no reported side effects. I told my doc this and he said I can't tell you what to do and what not to do and that he does have patients that do them more than or additional to what he prescribes. ( I live in Los Angeles which is very progressive)...
So my question is this. I have read alot about steroids and such as well as PCT. But I am in a different situation if I am on them for life. So if I take 400mg for ten weeks I will then STILL after I am done with that ten week cycle be taking 200mg every other week for the forseable future. So is pct something I will really need or no? I did not ask my doctor this and again the clinic supplies me with cypionate but not clomid or novalex. Should I get these for my cycle or since I kinda will never be going off steroids in a way then do I not need PCT? I just don't wanna end up with boobs but once I am done with the 400mg I will still be doing 200mg every other week so the pct may be pointless or what? Basically again my main concern is not ending up with boobs.

OK. You will probably not like my answer but....
I would first try work outs without taking anything at all and see how that turns out.
I cannot recommend anything your doctor isn't mentioning or go against his advise but I would surely not mess around with steroids when being in a position you are in (or in any position for that matter)

well i appreciate your reply. My doc already has prescribed me testosterone as you can see so I am gonna take them just a little higher of a dose. I am gonna do them either way so I just REALLY REALLY was hoping someone can give me an awnser to my actual question about pct. This site seems to be almost empty so I am gonna post my question on other sites as not many users seem to be on this site or members that really use it.

Again, I think that only your doctor can answer this seen that you will continue with the testerone after using more of it for a specific period of time.
Forums and people's advise are usually meaning well but in essence everybody's body is reacting differently to the different treatments and only and alone a doctor observing (and testing) his "patient' can advise you in a reliable manner.
