If kept in a closed container, does protein powder go bad over time? If so, how long does it stay good? (I found some that is about a year old.)

so,

I imagine if it is kept dry and dark and you don't cook it it pretty much shouldn't go bad (though there was this Fox special a while ago...).

I suppose you might get some aminoacis racemization over time and then archeolgist can date the powder which is really neat. But that's another story.

I'd say most of it starts out bad I've used some really old stuff with no ill effects as far as I can tell.

Cats certainly do. And they are made of protein. So, I would say, yes.
