Hi,

A lot of times lately it seems that when I get to the gym I am getting tired before I should be. I go through about 4 sets and then the YAWNS start to hit me and then my energy levels seem to drop. I have really been trying hard to push beyond that barrier, but I have noticed my output drops when I hit that 'yawning period'

I am getting plenty of sleep, between 6-8 hours, and I am taking a dose of Xenadrene 30 mins before hitting the gym...sometimes, but not always, I try to eat about 2 hours before going to work out also (protein shake and yogurt)

is there anything else I can do???

When do you go and how busy is the gym? Is all of the cardio equipment nearby?

Wayne - another case of CO2 poisoning?

For some people, even eight hours is a bit of a deficit.

For some, this can create anxiety, which in turn creates a sleepy- yawny feeling. Caffeine will do this to me.

Try carbing 30 minutes before workout. I doubt this is the problem, though.

Have you tried workouts at different times? Same effect?

Do you take in alot of caffeine other than the xenadrene? If so, maybe your attenuated to it, and the caffeine in it is wearing off quickly...when caffeine wears off you tend to be even more tired than you were before for some reason I can't remember now.

It was Wayne S. Hill that suggested it, and I've noticed the exact same symptoms as you. It doesn't seem related to my sleep quality or diet, but sometimes I get tired and yawny in the gym after 5-10 minutes.
