Greetings, I have bee training awhile and am in to nutrition. I think those bars loaded with fifty different ingredients, many of them synthetic, are crap. So I just wanted to share a couple of natural snacks with other people who agree. These snacks are nutrient dense.
A) 1/2 cup lowfat yogurt (sweetened or non, if non, add honey) 1/2 scoop 100% whey protein (no additives) 1/2 bannana or 1/2 cup applesauce 1/2 cup whole grain cereal
Mix it all up! I swear the active cultures in the yogurt 'activate' the protein and make it more bioavalable. I like to mix in a capsule of mangnesium/calcium citrate supplement, the powdered kind like Soleray makes, opening it up and pouring it in the bowl, which also seems to activate in the yogurt. Really! You can watch the lumps of protein and minerals dissolve into the yogurt! The benefiets of this snack are great. Protein from yogurt and whey, cultures that promote intestinal function, minerals from supplement and banana (pottasium), fiber, carbs to energize, simple and complex, etc. Great for athletes. This is better for you than any of those funky damn bars. No blender needed, (though experimenting with different shakes is alot of fun too)

similair recipe good breakfast two slices of whole grain toast natural peanut butter spread on raisins or banana slices layered on little bit of honey dribbled on multi vitamin/mineral supplement all washed down with 1'2 cup of juice
Some of you may say 'too much carbs', but I think carbs as evil is a myth. If you think some carbs are going to make you gain weight go for a friggin brisk walk, particularly before bed or after waking.
Go natural y'all its better. MetrX can kiss my native ass.
