my wife has just gotten into taking a 20 minute walk every evening, and 100 skips of a jump-rope every morning.

but i'd really like her to do just some deadlifts & chinups too, for bone strength, muscles & all the other benefits. but she can't do any chins, and has said that the DL looks stupid & annoying when i do it.

how can i be most effective in persuading her to life weights? any good experiences out there? or mistakes that i can learn from?

1 step at a time dude. try introducing stretching and body weight exercises (pushups, lunges, etc) before you ask her to start deadlifting.

Tell her that deadlifts and/or squats will tone her thighs like nothing else. I'll bet she sneaks to the gym after learning this 'secret'
