Is it a good idea to go to the gym and work out if I've got a cold, I know your not meant to when your really ill but I wasn't certain about if you have a cold. Is it still ok to go?

Thanks,

Last week..

Tuesday morning. Wake up. Eye feels funny. 'Huh.. thats weird' Tuesday afternoon. Eye, all red. Hmm.. that doesn't look good. Tuesday evening. Eye is lactating. Puss coming out.

Wednesday morning. Eyes closed shut from puss. Wednesday afternoon. Visit Dr. K. Yep, Pink Eye. Highly Contagous. Perscribe drops. Stay home, don't rub eye. Wednesday evening. Really itching to work out. It is chest day and I hate missing chest day. Eye looks slightly better, who will know. Walk into gym. Bump into Dr. K. 'Heh, that's funny Dr. K. I didn't know you came here'. 'Should you be here Matt?'

Busted.

If it's above the neck then it should be OK, and you'll probably feel better afterwards. If it's below the neck then you should probably rest and let you body heal. A few days off will do you some good.

Make sure you for sure that its not flu. & listen to your body..

Some healthy people have exercised with the flu and the virus goes to their heart and kills them (That was the tabloid description anyhow...)

Colds are usually fine but if you feel tired or weak then ..er .. rest!

Go for a run .. if you don't over-do it the running might shuck the cold for you. The bonuses:

1. a change 2. cold might go with the deep breathing and fresh air 3. no one else gets the cold 4. stress is relieved .. heart gets a workout

I think I figured that out, as was the moral of the story..

And I am even grown up enough now to share my silly little story and maybe have someone else think twice about doing the same thing.

See how grown up I am?
