Hi folks, A bit of advice would be very much appreciated here.
Around 8 months ago now, probably as a result of squats, I injured my lateral colateral right knee ligament. After a 2 months of the pain I went to the doc... first doc says 'nah, nothing wrong with you.' Went back 1 month later, next doc says 'ah, probably your ligamnet - give it rest, if it is not better in 2 weeks, come back and I'll refer you to physiotherapy.' I went back and 2 months after that a space became avaiable at physio and I went to that weekly for around 4 weeks, and twice in the next month. The knee was not totally better but I was discharged as I was told it should get better fairly easily from then on.
Anyway, 1 month on - the pain was back again. I've just moved town and after 3 months of pain (thinking the knee would just get better with some rest) I went to see a new doc. He says 'go swimming, and if it's not better in a month come and see me again.' AAAAARGH! I've explained to him that I've had all this before so he prescribed me some anti-inflamatories.
What can I do to get my knee fixed?! I'm only 19, I used to be really active, but for the past 8 months I've found it incredibly hard to play any sports. I would go swimming, but I'm very busy and the local pool opening times do not fit in with my routine (i.e. university).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Ian
PS - I also have a pain at the very top of my left thigh. It is the same sort of pain as the knee. None of the doc's have actually looked at it, and have said that it's because my right knee is injured I'm puting extra pressure on my left leg - I'm not so sure.
Also, looking at my feet while walking - I think my right foot is starting to point outwards - is this just my imagination, or could this be a result of my knee being wrecked? Thnx
