I have been on a ketogenic diet for the past month without a break. The first 3 weeks were a SKD and the last week was a TKD. I have since found out about leptin refeeds. I have a few questions that I couldn't find answers to in the archives:

1. I have a BF% of about 23%. I have been doing a beginners weight routine for those 4 weeks of the diet. During those first 4 weeks, I cannot recall my appetite going off the scale. Though I wasn't really looking for it. Maybe it did and I got through it with willpower. Should I now take a refeed even though my appetite is ok still? If so, how long would it need to be, bearing in mind that I have been on a keto diet for 4 weeks without a break?

2. After the refeed, should my hypocaloric days be a SKD rather than a TKD as I was doing the past week, since with the refeed it will be like being on a CKD?

3. With regard eating a high carb, but low fat refeed. Just how low fat are we talking? For example, when I look at the caloric information on the food labels of ice cream, pizzas, biscuits, cheesecake etc, just how much grams of fat per 100g of product is ok and how much is too much? For example, a pizza I looked at had 14g of fat per 100g of product.

4. During this refeed, should I still be eating the same amount of protein that I was eating on the hypocaloric days, (180g)?

5. During the hypercaloric refeed, just how far above maintenance should I be eating?

Thanks for the help.

I am no expert, but I have found all the things you are talking about ot be unimportant. I look at refeed days as mental health days. I eat whatever I want. I eat the foods that I miss. I just try not to overdo it. I enjoy myself. Then the next day I go back to being a good boy. Works for me.

And even if I really overdo it and gorge myself, I am back here I need to be in one day. Even if I lost two days, so what?? The most important thing about any fat loss program is that it be do-able. If you retain your sanity during the diet, you are way ahead of most people.

Both diet and exercise should be something that you can do. Not just something out of a book or a regimen that was prescribed. You are a human beings with feeling, likes and dislikes. Use yourself as a resource. Be creative. Don't beat yourself up.Find something that works for you.
