Hi, I have a diet related question. I train in the evenings from around 5 to 7. After which for dinner I am planning to have a glass of milk (300ml), two egg whites of boiled eggs and some soy cooked in light oil. During the day my diet doesn't have any high protein ingredients as don't eat meat.

So I was wondering if it's okay to mix protein sources? Also, if I start taking protein supplements will it be okay to have them with the meal I described above?

It's fine to combine proteins. However, you need to ingest some additional carbohydrates.

Glycogen (carbohydrates) are burned from the muscle during the course of exercise. So, after a workout you need to replenish your glycogen.

Studies indicate that the muscle cells reload glycogen best when a simple sugar is combined with a quickly digest protein within 30 minutes of finishing your workout. From you post, it appears that none of that is happening. Obviously, some meal is better than no meal. However, to enhance recovery time...there are better choices.

I doubt it's going to be that easy to get all your protein in one meal. I don't understand why not eating meat implies not having protein with your other meals. I don't eat meat either, and I have no problem getting a few serves of protein a day (protein shake with/for breakfast, and a serve of yogurt and/or a shake in the afternoon)
