Okay everyone, i just wanted to give you an update on my progress. I am saying thanks to all those who helped me previously and am looking for advice. I am basicly new to weightlifting, but not new to exercise. Please offer up your advice. I know I am not going to be a competitve body builder and most of youins make my measurements look sick, but I'm no concerned about you, I'm concerned with making myself better.

Welp everyone, after 10 weeks here is my progress physically.

Then Height- 5'11 1/2 Weight- 173 lbs Neck- 15.75 Chest- 40 relaxed waist- 35 inches (at level of navel) hips- 38 forearm flexed-10.75 bicep flex- 13 Thigh- 22.5 calf- 14.25 Estimated body fat- 19 percent

Now Weight-172 lbs neck- 15.9 chest- 40.5 waist- 33.5 )navel level) hips- 36 forearm flexed- 11 bicep flexed- 12.75 (i think i lost some fat off them) thigh-22.75 calf 14.75 estimated body fat 14.5 percent

On the surface it looks like I've improved. My family and girlfriend say i look better, but I can't see it in myself. I know those aren't huge changes, but I think changes in the right direction. By the way my main goal was fat loss and still is. I'd love to get down to 10% bf and try to bulk up some, but i don't know if its worth my while. (advice?)

Also, what I can't understand is I weigh 172 lbs, but where is it? Certainly not in my arms or chest. My waist isn't THAT big. I'm sure nothing to write home about, but its not grotesque. Anyone have any advice on that too?

By the way at this time two years ago I was at 195 lbs, but had a 39 inch waist and was around 27 percent body fat, so yes I am much better in the long run.

Also, what are reasonable gains in size in a couple of months?

It this is all for real, you've done very well. I have my doubts about the change in BF%, but that doesn't matter.

You might trim down to 12% or so, but could well find that things get difficult by 10%. This varies considerably from person to person, but someone who's been overweight is likely to find the sledding tough at low BF's.

I don't follow you here. Are you suggesting that 172 lbs is a lot of weight? It absolutely isn't. If I were you, I'd concentrate on keeping your BF within reasonable bounds and pursuing your goals for muscle/strength gain, but don't worry about the scale.

You're pretty much a newbie, so that's tough to answer. You might gain quite a bit, or might not. If muscle size is a goal for you, take a look at
