Why? My maintenance level is about 2600 calories/day. If all I ate was 1600 cal/day of Snickers, why would I not lose 'a lot of fat'?

If it's below maintenance, why wouldn't it cause fat loss?

That is, what would prevent normal thermodynamics from working?

Do Snickers contain some substance that prevents normal physiology from working?

Inquiring minds want to hear a physiological explanation and a mere assertion isn't going to cut it?

I said 'fat loss', not 'weight loss'.

If I were to go on the Jose Snicker Diet, I'd 'assert' that I'd lose a small amount of fat and a lot of muscle. Not much protein in those bars,

Jesus christ, Jose, do you think I'd EVER consider such a low protein diet in this comparison?

I mean, c'mon, you've read enough of my shit. After I harp on the issue of caloric intake, what is ALWAYS the second aspect of diet I consider to be of the highest priority?

I'll give you a hint, it starts with 'p' and ends with 'rotein'.

As far as I'm concerned, low-protein diets don't even deserve consideration in this retarded debate because they will (generally) cause far poorer results.

The question at issue, properly phrased is this:

Given an identical caloric intake AND an adequate protein intake (let's add adequate EFA intake which is very small), does the source of the calories matter?

No, source of calories doesn't matter.

But the Jose Snickers Diet contains neither of those two requisites.

You should contact M&M Mars to see about making a high-protein, EFA laden Snickers bar.

I think I read a post from Pat Arnold last year saying that the reason why most protein bars taste like ass is because great-tasting protein bars would cost around $4-5 each and wouldn't sell.

If the government really wanted to reduce obesity rates in this nation, they should subsidize this kind of stuff.

Hm.... that's not a bad idea actually.. hm....

Except I don't think they've added EFAs.

Yes.

It definitely depends on who you (try to) steal them from.
