Hi All,

Been reading the group as a silent participator for some time now. A very good resource, guys, for people new to weightlifting, nutrition etc etc.

I'm a 44 y/o male who'd previously been quite sedentary for the previous 20 odd years and got bitten by the gym bug via Body For Life. A very good start to a new life in my opinion and I'm now in my 5th or 6th month of training and loving it. I'm still basically following the same format (Upper, Cardio, Lower, Cardio, Upper, Cardio, Rest) though I tend to do Cardio on the rest day as well.

Still learning new and differing exercises so I can mix it up and confuse the muscles.

My question has to do with cardio you can do from home and specifically the Punching Bag. I'm trying to do my cardio based from home and not rely on gym equipment. Jogging I can do though I do tend to suffer from a soreness sometimes at ankle level but the front side of the left foot and therefore the Punch Bag was obtained since it's an Upper Body cardio.

Besides recommending other cheap Upper Body Cardio alternatives, does anyone have any good Punch Bag resources for a newbie ? I'm doing what I think I should be doing with punches, jabs etc etc and would like to confirm I'm doing this stuff correctly and not in for a future of damaged body parts - I'm certainly getting increased cardio levels so that seems OK.

Best Regards Martin Cooney

P.S I did waffle a bit but wanted to give a bit of background on myself

Starting with people who use 'tone' as a verb.

Ones on twos, inside takedowns into prone straight armbars, GO!
