Yesterday, while going down into a squat, I felt a muscle pull in the inner thigh of my left leg. I stopped immediately. Later, I got an appointment with my massage therapist who said that I had pulled one of my adductors. She said that in all likelihood my left knee came in as I was descending and bang, the adductor was under too much stress. She said that this was extremely likely if my feet were pointed outwards, which is the way I normally squat. The weight was 405, but I have not had any problems with that weight in the past and, I had no problems in preliminary sets. Leg is still in pain and I will not be training legs for awhile.
So, I pose these questions to the squat think tank:
1. Is my massage therapist's explanation plausible? If not, are their other explanations?
2. How can this be avoided in the future?
3. In addition to those 'abductor/adductor' machines, are there other exercises that one can perform to specifically train those muscles?

When you consider many massage therapists know quite abit about anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and exercise rehab (or at least they should in my opinion) she actually may know what shes talking about. Also changes things if shes a powerlifter.
