Can't reach Twin Labs site...

Did they stop making Ultra Fuel?

1 container of powder lasts me a long while and I haven't needed to buy it recently.

Besides Kool-Aid what is a good replacement for Ultra Fuel?

TIA

Interesting you ask this today, since I spent a good bit of time yesterday looking for it.

I found some of the premade liquid containers at the grocery store, nobody seems to have the powder (including many online nutrition stores). I guess since carbs became evil, carb powders became evil too. It's a pisser when yo'ure trying to carb-load.

Kool aid is primarily sucrose, it is not a good replacement for Ultra Fuel (predominantly glucose, glucose polymers with small amounts of fructose).

You can order bulk maltodextrin (glucose polymers) from Kilosports. Powdered fructose is dirt cheap at any health food store.

Bulk glucose shouldn't be too hard to get. Cheep too.

True but it's nauseatingly sweet (I love sweets and having to do an oral glucose tolerance test was just nasty). GP's/maltodextrins don't make you want to retch.

Yes, its pretty nasty. But, 'no pain, no gain'.

Eat your glucose, and I don't wanna hear any of your excuses.

Unless its tastes vile, or is bad for you, its no good for you. Some personal trainer told me this.

They still make it but it's a new formula. The newer version is a bit more'tangy'. I liked the older version better but now I'll have to adjust to the newer product.

How about Gatorade? It's like pure glucose.

The powder maybe. Probably get pricey though if you're using a lot of it. The liquid is way too dilute. Gatorade used to make a Gatorlode product for carb loading, dunno if it's still around.

I think the suggestion of bulk maltodextrin + a little sucrose (or even powdered fructose) is probably the cheapest solution.

Yeah, gets a little pricey, but its not overbearingly sweet. Any idea why its not so sweet?

Tried the dextrose and fructose, and found it awefully sweet, considerably worse than straight dextrose. What is the taste of maltodextrin like?
