I got into a discussion with my wife last night....she was feeling hurt that her friends tell their kids to go see 'obachan' (auntie)...making her feel old.

Fortunately, neither of us look our age, thanks to clean living and vitties...and I do not FEEL old (unless I see the occasional naiveté of some young people) and we plan on going dancing on my 100th birthday....

But

It got me to wondering, when do people start using the term 'middle aged'??

What are your opinions, thoughts, or funnies?

Or 'If I'd said that to MY dad he'd have killed me'...

Or 'What time of the night do you call THIS??'

Or 'You're not going out dressed like that'

etc etc...

<sigh>.....I'm finished, aren't I? What bother me is that I used 'You're not going out dressed like that' for the first time about 10 years ago.

A couple of days ago, I found myself saying to my daughter regarding one of her friends, 'if Cassandra jumped off a cliff, would you do it too?'

My daughter's only four, but middle age is here.

Oh. Crap... I'm 21 and have said that numerous times. Does it help at all that I was saying it to a 6 year old?
